The team follows a computer hacker (Sadie Kratzig) to an idyllic Midwestern town eerily remindful of the 1950s, but the KGB finds her first. Kyle: Brixton Karnes. Duke: Duane Davis. Jenny: Christine Steel.

Plot Summary:

The team tries to find "Captain Zap", a whiz computer hacker who managed to break into FLAG's computers. They trace him to an old brick building, but all the doors are alarmed. They debate suggestions on how to get in, ranging from Beast's idea to blow a hole in the wall with one of his missiles to Dante's suggestion of using the vehicles' grappling hooks along with hand-held propulsion units to scale the building. They finally settle on Erica's sarcastic idea: climb in through the open window. They enter, climb upstairs, and Duke kicks in the door to one of the apartments. Captain Zap turns out to be a beautiful young woman, Corky Flemming, who recognizes Trek's name. She closes up some classified Team Knight Rider on her computer.

The team is surprised at Corky's appearance, saying she doesn't look the part of a cyber terrorist. Corky is a bit offended, saying she was only looking for the location of underground alien bases in New Mexico. She also claims whe "accidently" broke into the White House computer system, but only to leave Hillary an email telling not to wear horizontal stripes on CNN. Corky says she's not working for anyone, except part time at the Gap. As Corky tries to explain herself, Trek starts to fall for her.

Kyle reviews the incident with the rest of the team in the situation room. Trek seems overly passionate about getting Corky back. While looking at the video footage from Dante's cameras, Kyle recognizes the leader's gun as belonging to Alexi Markov, a KGB agent. 8 years ago, Markov pulled of a similar ambush in Hong Kong and left Kyle for dead.

Kyle visits Drozhdov, "the godfather of the Russian Mafia", who is playing checkers in a park. Drozhdov knew Kyle's father, who sold information to the KGB and then turned on them. Kyle asks where he can find Markov, but Drozhdov refuses and orders his henchmen to kill Kyle. Dante comes to his rescue, shooting the gunman with a tranquilizer dart. Back on SkyOne, Kyle gets an email message from one of Drozhdov's men, telling Kyle he will find what he is looking for in Rockwell, Iowa. Kyle's father saved this man's life once, and he wants to repay the favor.

The team goes to Rockwell, a small town in the middle of nowhere. They split up to scan the town for anything suspicious, but can't find anything out of the ordinary. They meet back at "Gower Drugs", which Trek recognizes as the name of the store in "It's A Wonderful Life". Trek and Erica leave to check out the hotel on the outskirts of town. Inside, a young boy (Bobby) is showing Duke his baseball collection. All the cards are from the 70s, and when Kyle asks how he knows so much about baseball, he says he learned it in school, since baseball is America's pasttime. Bobby's mother, Holly Statton, runs the drugstore and is also the town mayor. The town sheriff, Burt Cassidy, comes in to the store and warns the team that they don't like hot shots coming into town .

Erica is mortified when Trek pulls over to "relieve himself". While they are stopped, Kat scans a small synthetic entrance in the side of one of the mountains. Trek and Erica go to investigate and find a door. They want to report back to Kyle, but they are captured by two men. They are brought into the mountain hideout, where Markov is overseeing an electronic bidding war over Captain Zap. Trek and Erica are thrown into a holding cell with Corky. Trek and Corky argue a bit, but Corky tells Trek that since they are both hackers, the only difference between them is that she was caught. Erica uses an unapproved explosive disguised as nail clippers to break out of the cell. ("Ned" in supplies knows how to take care of his girl, according to Erica.)

Kyle, Duke and Jenny go to the town library, where every book is about America. Kyle tells Duke and Jenny that back in the 1950s, the CIA quietly took over a small village in the Soviet Union which served as the perfect training ground for spies. He believes the Russians did the same thing to Rockwell.

Outside the mountain hideout, Kat tries to contact Kyle but the TKR communications are being jammed. Erica uses a fingernail pin to knock out one of the guards so Trek can get access to the computer. The computer text is all Russian, so it is useless to Trek. He finds the town's power grid, and uses the street lights to send a Morse code message. Jenny sees the message, and she and Duke come to help.

. The townspeople hold a meeting and decide to kill the Team. Kyle listens in, but gets captured by Mayor Holly. Holly tells Kyle that all they want to do is just keep their lives the way they are. She has been trying to organize townspeople to give up the old ways of training as spies. As she tells Kyle this, Sheriff Cassidy overhears her and takes them both into custody.

Duke and Jenny rescue Trek, Erica and Corky. Trek stays out of the fighting, and Corky asks why he isn't helping out. Trek tells her he doesn't want to "show up" his team mates. Kyle tries to convince the townspeople that they can live on as American citizens, but Markov tells them Kyle is just spreading lies. Dante distracts the Sheriff and Markov, and Kyle and Holly escape. Sheriff Cassidy calls a raid, and brings out tanks and Mig fighters to stop Team Knight Rider. Holly pleads with Kyle not to return fire, since most of the town's "soldiers" are just young boys. Kyle agrees. A missile knocks Trek off of Plato; he his hurt badly, but is able to kiss Corky when she runs to his aid. He tells her that he owes her one. Young Bobby runs in front of the tank yelling at them not to fire. His mother runs out to him, and they cease fire.

Kyle tells Holly that Cassidy and Markov will have to answer for their crimes, but the existance of the town would be an embarrassment to the American Intelligence community and will most likely try to forget the whole thing. Trek tells Kyle that Corky escaped while he was in and out of consciousness. No on the team believes that Trek is telling the whole story, but they don't question him about it.

Samenvatting:
Twee bewakers van Miller Technologies, een van de grootste producenten van militaire software, worden neergeslagen door een mysterieuze electrische kracht. Kyle roept het team bij elkaar voor een onderzoek, en Dennis de monteur bied aan om te helpen in zijn gele Pacer "Octavius". Kyle zegt Dennis dat hij nodig is op SkyOne. Kyle bekritiseert Erica wegens gebrek aan gevoel voor teamwork, nadat hij haar betrapt op het lezen van een tijdschrift tijdens de briefing.

Trek bezoekt Miller Tech en ontmoet een groep van de bedrijfsnerds. Een van hen vraagt Trek zelfs om zijn Newton te signeren. Trek ontdekt dat bepaalde software gestolen is, inclusief de motoren van een Electro Magnetische Puls die in staat is om elk electronisch apparaat kort te sluiten. Domino onderzoekt het EMP overheids contract en vind 4 bedrijven die betrokken waren bij het bouwen van de onderdelen voor het apparaat. Een tweede bedrijf werd twee weken geleden beroofd. De twee overgebleven bedrijven zijn Webber Data en Yoshida Sonics. Dante vind de naam "Carlos Adulce" een roekeloze plaatselijke wapensdealer. Kyle herkent de naam van zijn CIA dagen, hij was niet in staat om Carlos in het verleden tegen te houden. Kyle neemt aan dat Carlos probeert de onderdelen te stelen om zijn eigen EMP apparaat te bouwen.

Erica gaat naar Webber Data en Kat ontdekt een energieontlading met dezelfde golflengte als die bij Miller Tech. Kyle waarschuwt Erica om de dieven niet te lijf te gaan totdat ze back up heeft, maar Erica negeert hem, bewerend dat ze het signaal van Kyle verloren is. Erica flirt met de bewaker bij Webber Data. Ze beloofd hem een date als hij haar binnen laat. De bewaker laat haar binnen. Erica ziet een bloemist die een boeket bloemen terug zet in een bestelbusje en realiseert zich dat hij de dief is. Ze besluit hem te achtervolgen door zeer druk verkeer. Een man vuurt een sonisch veld vanaf de achterkant van de bus, dat stoort met de systemen van Kat, maar toch gaan ze door. Erica probeert het verkeer af te snijden door midden op de weg te gaan rijden, maar eindigt in een zandhoop die daar ligt vanwege wegwerkzaamheden. Het busje ontsnapt.

Kyle zegt Trek een afweersysteem te ontwikkelen dat de voertuigen beschermt tegen de EMP en stuurt DUke undercover naar Yoshida als een tijdelijke secretaresse. Kyle en Jenny bezoeken Yoshida en krijgen een rondleiding van de directeur "Kayla" Kayla en Kyle flirten met suggestieve bewoordingen. Jenny en Domino maken grappen over Kayla achter haar rug.

Erica blijft achter op SkyOne zodat ze uit de problemen blijft. Ze verveelt zich en begint te praten met Kat. Kat vertelt haar dat niemand in de Foundation haar in het team wilde, maar dat Kyle zijn nek voor haar heeft uitgestoken en dat ze wel iets loyaler zou mogen zijn. Erica vraagt Kat hoe het kan dat als de voertuigen ontwikkeld zijn om de persoonlijkheden van de bestuurder aan te vullen, zij is geeindigd met de brave mevrouw. Kat antwoord dat misschien diep van binnen Erica ook een braaf meisje wil zijn. Erica loopt door de garage en loopt Trek in de weg die bezig is met de EMP afweer. Dennis vraagt haar hulp voor het upgraden van de stem modulator van Octavius, maar hij schaamt zich als het dingen zegt als "Je bent te cool Dennis." en "Je bent een vrouwenmagneet."

Duke komt binnen voor zijn tijdelijke baan en ontmoet de snobberige "David" de assistent van Kayla. David beledigd Duke vanaf het begin. Dante en Domino testen de beveiliging van Yoshida door te proberen in te breken, maar ze kunnen niet binnen komen. Duke sluipt weg van zijn archiveren om te proberen lichamelijk in te breken in verboden gebieden maar slaagt er ook niet in. Hij keert terug naar zijn baas die op het punt staat te vertrekken voor een Yoghurt pauze. Als hij vertrokken is, kijkt Duke naar zijn computer en ontdekt verboden FAA bestanden die geheime informatie bevatten over commerciele vluchtpatronen. Een van de patronen bevat een notitie "CA" Carlos Adulce. Duke neemt aan dat ze een demonstratie van de EMP plannen op een van de vluchten.

Kyle en Jenny vertellen Kayla dat haar assistent een spion is. Zij zegt dat de enige manier om het apparaat te stelen zou zijn om een toegangspaneel in een aparte kamer te gebruiken. Kyle en Jenny gaan op onderzoek uit. Onderweg maakt Jenny een snedige opmerking over Kayla, waardoor ze ruzie krijgen. Dante en Domino bemoeien zich ermee, Dante verdedigt Kyle en Domino verdedigd Jenny. De twee mensen besluiten om het er bij te laten zitten. Ze gaan de kamer binnen en raken opgesloten. Kayla spreekt tegen hen over de intercom. Ze zegt dat ze het goede idee hadden maar de verkeerde persoon, zij was degene die het EMP apparaat wilde stelen. Ze activeert een geluidsgenerator in de kamer die hen uiteindelijk uit elkaar zal scheuren. Kyle roept Duke over de comlink en Duke en Beast komen door de muur heen om hen te redden.

Domino ontdekt dat Kayla overeenkomt met de beschrijving van een wapenhandelaar die gezocht wordt door Interpol. Dante breekt in op de computer van een plaatselijk mobiel telefoonbedrijf en ontdekt dat Carlos Adulce pas geleden zijn telefoon nog gebruikt heeft, en dat hem gezegd werd te komen naar een adres bij het vliegveld. Jenny en Duke vertrekken om hem te stoppen.

Carlos en Kayla ontmoeten elkaar bij het vliegveld, Carlos met een koffer geld, Kayla met het EMP geweer. Carlos wil bewijs dat het geweer werkt en Kayla stelt voor het te proberen op een van de landende vliegtuigen. Terwijl ze zich voorbereid om te vuren, komt Team Knight Rider aan, waardoor Kayla besluit het geweer op hen uit te proberen. De puls schakelt alledrie de voertuigen uit, zodat ze onbruikbaar zijn. Duke en Jenny zoeken dekking achter Beast terwijl Kayla doorgaat met vuren. Duke gebruikt een van Beast's toegangspanelen om handmatig controle te krijgen over de raketlanceerder zodat ze wat tijd kunnen winnen.

In SkyOne is Trek klaar met het EMP schild. Erica maakt zich zorgen over het feit dat Trek niet genoeg tijd heeft om de schilden te installeren en de voertuigen weer klaar te maken. Ze vraagt Dennis om een afleiding te vormen. Dennis twijfelt, maar Erica geeft hem een speech over teamwork en hij stemt toe. Ze installeren de schilden op Octavius. Dennis gaat met de auto naar het vliegveld en trekt het vuur van Kayla terwijl Trek de andere auto's repareert. De schilden van Octavius gaan het opgeven. Jenny neemt Domino om Dennis te beschermen. DOmino gaat skieen (op twee wielen rijden) en blokkeert het EMP schot. Domino biedt aan om de wielen van Kayla's busje kapot te schieten, maar Jenny wil het op de moeilijke manier doen. Ze klimt naar buiten op Domino's motorkap, springt het busje in en slaat Kayla neer. Ondertussen houden Kyle en Dante Carlos tegen, die wilde ontsnappen.

Erica komt te laat aan op de debriefing. Kyle zegt haar dat het een grote fout was om Dennis te sturen, een ongetrainde agent, in een gevaarlijke situatie. Erica neemt de volledige verantwoordelijkheid en zegt Kyle dat ze haar ontslag bij FLAG zal indienen om de rest van het team te beschermen. Kyle stelt voor dat iedereen zijn mond houd en niets aan FLAG te vertellen over wat er gebeurd is. Hij prijst Erica voor haar trouw aan het team.

 

When the team investigates a break-in at a military-software company, they discover that a device that can render electronic equipment useless is missing. Kyle: Brixton Karnes. Erica: Kathy Trageser. Jenny: Christine Steel. Duke: Duane Davis.

Plot Summary:

Two security guards at Miller Technologies, one of the leading manufacturers of military software, are thrown around by some strange electrical force. Kyle assembles the team to investigate, and Dennis the Mechanic offers to help with "Octavius", his new bright yellow Pacer. Kyle tells Dennis he's needed on SkyOne. Kyle criticizes Erica for having no concept of teamwork, after catching her reading a magazine during the mission briefing.

Trek visits Miller Tech and meets a group of the company geeks. One of them even asks Trek to sign his Newton. Trek discovers that some software was stolen, including the drive engines of an Electo-Magnetic Pulse device cablable of shutting down any electronic device. Domino researches the EMP government contract, and finds 4 companies that were involved in building the components for the device. A second company was robbed two weeks ago. The two remaining companies are Webber Data and Yoshida Sonics. Dante digs up the name "Carlos Adulce", a ruthless local arms dealer. Kyle recognizes the name from his CIA days; he was unable to stop Carlos in the past. Kyle assumes that Carlos is trying to steal the components to build his own EMP device.

Erica goes to Webber Data, and KAT detects an energy discharge with a similar wavelength to the pulse at Miller Tech. Kyle warns Erica not to engage the thieves until she has back-up, but Erica ignores him, claiming that she lost Kyle's signal. Erica flirts with the security guard at Webber Data, promising that she'll reward him with a date if he lets her in. The guard lets her in. Erica notices a florist putting a bouquet back into a delivery a van, and realizes he's the thief. She decides to chase him through heavy traffic. A man fires a sonic field from the back of the van, which interferes with KAT's systems, but they continue on. Erica tries to bypass traffic by riding on the meridian of the freeway, but winds up getting stuck in a dirt pile at a construction site. The van escapes.

Kyle tells Trek to develop a shielding system to protect the vehicles from the EMP, and sends Duke undercover at Yoshida as a temporary secretary. Kyle and Jenny visit Yashida and get a tour from their CEO, "Kayla". Kayla and Kyle flirt with suggestive innuendos. Jenny and Domino make fun of Kayla behind her back.

Erica remains on SkyOne so she can stay out of trouble. She gets bored, and begins to chat with Kat. Kat tells her that no one at the Foundation wanted to bring Erica into the Team, but Kyle really went out on a limb for her, and she should be more loyal in return. Erica asks Kat that if the vehicle are designed to complement their operative's personality, then how did she end up with Miss Goody-Two-Shoes. Kat replies that perhaps deep down, Erica wishes that she could be the good girl. Erica wanders down to the garage and gets in the way of Trek who is working on the EMP shielding. Dennis asks for her help upgrading Octavius' voice modulator, but gets embarrassed when it starts saying "You're to cool, Dennis" and "You're a babe magnet".

Duke shows up for his Temp job, and meets up with his snobby, prissy supervisor "David" who is Kayla's assistant. David insults Duke from the start. Dante and Domino test the security of Yoshida by trying to hack into their systems, but can't gain access. Duke sneaks away from his filing to attempt a physical break-in to their restricted areas, but fails. He returns to his supervisor, who is about to leave for a Yogurt break. When he leaves, Duke looks at his computer and discovers restricted FAA files of classified commercial airline flight patterns. One of the listings has a note typed in, "CA", Carlos Adulce. Duke assumes they must be planning a demonstration of the EMP on one of these flights.

Kyle and Jenny tell Kayla that her assistant is a spy. She says that the only way he could steal the device would be to use a hard-wired access panel in a resonance chamber. Kyle and Jenny go to investigate. Along the way, Jenny makes some snide comments about Kayla, which starts an argument between them. Dante and Domino jump in, Dante defending Kyle and Domino defending Jenny. The two humans decide just to drop it. They enter the chamber, and get locked inside. Kayla speaks to them over an intercom, telling them that they had the right idea, but the wrong person; she was the one stealing the EMP device. She activates a white noise generator inside the chamber, which will eventually tear them apart. Kyle calls Duke on the com-link, and Duke and Beast crash into the chamber for a rescue.

Domino discovers that Kayla matches the description of an arms dealer Interpol is looking for. Dante taps into the computers for a local cellular phone company and finds that Carlos Adulce used his phone recently, and was told to meet at an address by the airport. Kyle, Jenny and Duke leave to stop him.

Carlos and Kayla meet by the airport; Carlos brings a briefcase of money, Kayla brings the EMP gun. Carlos wants proof that the gun works, and Kayla suggests that they test it on one of the landing planes. As she prepares to fire, Team Knight Rider arrives and Kayla decides to test the gun on them instead. The pulse disables all 3 vehicles, rendering them useless. Kyle, Duke and Jenny seek protection behind Beast while Kayla continues to fire on them. Duke uses one of Beast's access panels to gain manual control of the missile launcher to buy them some time.

On SkyOne, Trek finishes up the shields that can be used against the EMP. Erica worries that Trek won't have enough time to install the shields and restore the vehicles. She recruits Dennis to create a diversion. Dennis is reluctant, but Erica gives him a motivational speech about teamwork, and he agrees. They install the shielding to Octavius. Dennis takes his car to the airport, and draws Kayla's fire while Trek repairs the other vehicles. Octavius' shields begin to fail, and Jenny takes Domino to protect Dennis. Domino goes "skiing" (riding on 2 wheels) and blocks the EMP shot. Domino offers to shoot out the tires on Kayla's van, but Jenny wants to do it "the hard way". She climbs out on to Domino's hood, jumps into the van and punches out Kayla. Meanwhile, Kyle and Dante stop Carlos from escaping.

Erica arrives late to a debriefing. Kyle tells her that it was a big mistake sending Dennis, an untrained operative, into a dangerous field situation. Erica assumes full responsibility and tells Kyle that she will offer her resignation to FLAG to protect the rest of the team. Kyle suggests instead that everyone just keeps their mouth shut and not tell FLAG anything about what happened. He praises Erica for her loyalty to the team.
