When Mike tries to stop a bank robbery things go badly and he ends up being a hostage himself. Mike figures out that the robbers have more on their mind than grab the money and run. They are overly interested in one of the hostages and her husband's safety deposit box. Mike is unable to communicate with KITT and works on enlisting the hostages to help capture the robbers.

(Mike suddenly wakes up)
Mike: Man, I was out cold.
KITT: Actually Michael, you were not out cold. You were in a very heavy REM state.
Mike: You know you sometimes sound like Hal from 2001?
KITT: I find that movie extremely confusing.
Mike: You know what confuses me?
KITT: There are not enough hours in the day to list all the things that confuse you.
Mike: Oh snap!
KITT: Yes Michael. Snap.

Als Mike probeert een bankoverval te stoppen loopt alles verkeerd en wordt hij uiteindelijk zelf een gijzelaar. Mike ontdekt dat de berovers meer in gedachten hebben dan het geld. Ze hebben erg veel interesse in een van de gijzelaars en het kluisje van haar man. Mike is niet in staat te communiceren met K.I.T.T. en moet de gijzelaars inschakelen om de boeven te pakken.

When Jack Burber, a drill sergeant from Mike’s past is killed, Mike and one of his Army buddies begin to investigate. They discover that Jack was part of a fight club, which spurs Mike into joining the club to find out what happened.

KITT: Well, you know what Sergeant Burber says, "The pain is temporary, but the pride is forever."
Mike: You'd make a good drill sergeant KITT.
KITT: Thank you. Now drop and give me 20, Private Knight; you worthless bag of...
Mike: K.I.T.T.!
