Action, dazzling stunt-work, bubble perms, technology, you got it: Universal Playback is proud to bring you one of the most fondly-remembered TV series of the 1980s, Knight Rider. The series captured the imagination in the early 80s, with KITT the hi-tech, hi-performance motor car and the dashing good looks of David Hasselhoff. Created by the man with the golden touch, Glen A. Larson, who must have spent every day in the 70s and 80s creating a new show, the series ran for an incredible 90 episodes between 1982 and 1987. The book Cult TV by Lewis and Stempel states that "the series was a big hit with kids, heterosexual women and those men who understood that it was not intended to be wholly serious." It also had the coolest theme music of all- written by Stu Phillips and updated by Busta Rhymes, whose rap over the theme, Turn It Up/Fire It Up, was a world-wide smash in 1998.
UPDATE: Universal are releasing Knight Rider Season 1 on DVD this augest!! This DVD boxset comes with the 1992 release Knight Rider 2000. More news to come soon.
